KENTUCKY PRISONER IS SHOT IN JAIL

 

    London, Ky., Feb 20 - While in his cell at Manchester jail, in Clay county, last night, Julius Webb was shot through the head by some unknown person, and, it is reported, that Webb, shortly afterward died.

    Webb was charged with the murder of Chad Hall, on a December 11, 1900. He was taking to the jailer, Theodore Cundiff, when the shot was fired. It is not known who did the killing. The assassin, by means of a ladder, assented to the second story of the jail and fired from there.
