George Grubbs
At 101st. Milestone
90 Years of Life
Spent In Harlan
George Grubbs, Cawood farmer, quietly observed his 101st birthday at his home yesterday. Probably one of the oldest men in this section, Grubbs has spent around 90 years of his life in Harlan County.
He was born in Virginia and came to Kentucky as a young boy. Grubbs still leads a fairly active life in summer feeding stock and fencing on his farm but doesn't " stir " much in cold weather. He has never had a serious illness.
"Between 40 and 45 children " call him " Grandpa, " a Cawood resident estimated. He is the father of ten children, six boys and four girls.
