Rev. Charles Blanton

The Rev. Charles Blanton, 56, Sharps Chapel, Tenn., died March 8, 2003, at Claiborne County Hospital in Tennessee.
The pastor of Kildav Community Church in Evarts, Blanton evangelized for 41 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Beneda Blanton; two sons: Joshua Blanton and wife, Brenda, Sharps Chapel, Tenn.; and Charles Blanton II and wife, Gabriell Blanton, Tazewell; two grandsons: Lucas and Jonathan Blanton; a granddaughter, Taylor Shockley; his mother, Juanita Blanton; two brothers: Phillip Blanton, Maynardville, Tenn.; and Larry Blanton, Nolansville; a sister, Wanda Sue Griffin, White Pine, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Larry Loveday, Eddie Ledford, Richie Ledford, Lee Johnson, Jason Blanton and Bill Loveday.
Honorary pallbearers included Edward Hubbard, Eric Blanton and Chuck Miller.
Coffey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
