Ronald Swanson Sr. 
    Ronald Swanson Sr., 68, Jonesville, Va.; formerly of Cawood, died Nov. 20, 2003, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn. 
    A native of Cawood and a member of the Cawood Mountain Assembly Church of God. He was a retired heavy equipment operator having worked for Bob and Rod Coal Company. He also worked as a coal miner, truck driver and a farmer. 
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Harve J. Swanson and Daisy Noe Swanson; two daughters: Rhonda and Pamela Swanson and one sister. 
    Survivors include his wife, Drucilla Swanson, Jonesville, Va.; eight children: Peggy Swanson, Cawood; Ronald Swanson Jr. and wife, Lois, Cawood; Ronald Swanson Jr. and wife ,Lois, Cawood; Buck Swanson, Jonesville, Va.; James Gene Swanson and wife, Jo Etta, Cawood; John Swanson and wife, Judy, Cawood; Paul Swanson and wife, Tammy, Cawood; and Diana Ball and husband, Tim, Cawood; one brother, Buck Swanson and wife, Betty, Ohio; and one sister, Wanda Clem and husband, Ed, Cawood; eight grandchildren: George Chappell, Daisy Jo Swanson, John Benjamin Swanson, Amy Michelle Swanson, Victoria Marie Swanson, Joshua Ball, Mark Baker and John Ron Baker, all of Cawood; and a host of family and friends also survive. 
    Visitation is today and Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. 
    Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Aaron Stapleton and the Rev. Franklin Stewart officiating. 
    Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Keith. 
    Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. 
    Mount Pleasant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
