Sheldy Brewer 

    Sheldy Marvin Brewer, 57, Evarts, died Dec. 10, 2003, at his home. 
    A native of Cawood, he was a retired federal mine inspector. He was a member of the Closplint Church of God and a past member of Cedarhill and Harlan County Country Club. He was a retired member of KHSAA and a football referee for 11 years. He was a very active member in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. 
    He is preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Annie Irvin Brewer; two brothers: Harold and Wilburn Brewer; and a grandson, Jacob Smith. 
    Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Burkhart Brewer, Evarts; four children: Jeffery Brewer, Evarts; Jim Brewer and wife, Angela, Kildav; Michael Brewer and wife, Janice; and David Brewer and wife, Heather, all of Evarts; three sisters: Nell Napier and Loretta Couch, both of Kildav; and Vedia Collins, Smith; eight grandchildren: Whitney, Kateline, Olivia, Mer-Rose, Jessica, A.J., Joseph and Katie. 
    Visitation will be held today from 4 to 9 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Saturday at Evarts Funeral Home. 
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Little Creek Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Gary Grubbs and the Rev. Frank Howard. 
    Pallbearer will include Gary Harris, Bryan Harris, Darrell Washington, Jerry Kirk, Bob Rhea and Alvin Brown. 
    Evarts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
