    Cora J. Vio, 94, a longtime resident of Poulsbo, died Monday at Martha & Mary Health Care Center in Poulsbo.
    She was born in Boring, Ky., to Andy and Salina (Spurlock) Burns. She was educated in Boring.
    In 1932, she moved to Michigan where she met Fred Vio. They married on April 20, 1935, in Inkster, Mich., relocating to Poulsbo in 1954.
    Mrs. Vio started working in 1956 at Ebenezer Nursing Home as a nurse's aide, cook and laundry worker.         She then worked at Martha & Mary Health Care Center as a nurse's aide from 1967 to 1971, returning to Ebenezer until her retirement in 1978.
    She was a longtime member of Olympic View Assembly of God in Silverdale (previously Silverdale Assembly of God). She loved gardening, spending time with her children and grandchildren, reading her Bible, praying, singing hymns and telling others about the Lord.
    Mrs. Vio was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and siblings Nancy Scalf, Maud Metcalf, Mary Castillo, Ethel Moss and Levi, Hilt and Caner Burns.
    Survivors include a daughter, Janice Hoyt of Bremerton; two sons, Aaron Vio of Poulsbo and Maurice Vio of Silverdale; a sister, Virgie Taylor of Louisville, Ky.; 10 grandchildren, Linda, Pam, Bob, Ron, Cindy, Christine, Tammy, Terry, Pete and Tony; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
    A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Aug. 14 at Olympic View Assembly of God. A private family service was held Aug. 5 at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton.
