Deputy Sheriff Also Killed In Fight In Kentucky

    Harland, Ky. - City Judge Bradley Burkhart, 43, of Verda, and Deputy Sheriff Dillard Middleton, 29, were shot to death last night in a fight at the rear of a pool room in Verda.

    Middleton met death on the eve of his trial in Harland Circuit court on a charge of slaying Cecil Shadrick, 23. Shadrick was was wounded fatally in a beer garden near here.
